2008 GGBA Board Elections

Dear GGBA Members,
It’s election season and the GGBA Board of Directors invites you to consider running for one of our 9 open seats this year (of a total of 15 seats). The GGBA Board is a collegial group that meets monthly to discuss and plan the year's activities. We also strive to make the GGBA the most effective LGBT chamber of commerce in the country with as many opportunities for our members to network and form effective business relationships as possible.
The 2009 Board election will occur at our
November Make Contact event at a location to
be announced to be held on Tuesday, November
18, 2008. Each member will receive one ballot
and votes may be cast either in person (at
the November Make Contact event) or by mail.
If you are interested in joining the Board, you should first review the Board Commitment Statement. If you feel that you are able to make the commitments of time and effort required to serve on the Board, we encourage you to complete the Declaration of Candidacy, sign the Board Commitment Statement and return both to the Membership Committee at the GGBA Office (1800 Market Street, Suite Q32, San Francisco, CA 94102) no later than Tuesday, October 21, 2008 (you may
also bring it to the October Make Contact to
be held on the same day).
The Board encourages all members to take an active role in the organization. In addition to running for a Board position, all members are encouraged to join a Board committee and to become involved in our events and programs. If you have any questions about the Board elections or how you might otherwise become more involved in the organization, please contact Peter Goetze, chair of the Membership Committee, at (415) 273-2002.
Sincerely,
Peggy Hughes
